Little Choc Apothecary located on Havemeyer street is owned by a long time fashion model who states that at first she became a vegan solely to maintain a "skinny body", be healthy and live a deprivation free life-style (she equates this to being a "superficial" reason). Quickly, she realized that the foods she chose to consume and serve up to the public had such a positive impact on animal welfare and sustainable living.

Before you enter Little Choc Apothecary, you are welcomed by their exterior design which is so freaking adorable if you ask me. From their vintage wooden yellow bench, to the copius amount of windows for that natural light setting, to the two country-looking wooden signs, this pace just makes you satisfied by their exterior design. When you walk in to Little Choc's, you are immediately met by workers making fresh Crepes, a barista area and a counter for to-go orders. I would highly suggest by-passing the counter, walking up those white-painted wooden stairs on your left, and sitting down for what will be an EPIC breakfast/brunch/snack.

*Just a warning, I went at 10am during the weekday so being able to grab a seat was easy because everyone else was at work but brunch time...good.freaking.luck.

After being seated, I was handed this menu that came in such a cute little binder with lamented pages which reminded me of my life back in pennsylvania (#countrygirl at heart). Their menu is stacked with sweet crepes, savor crepes, fresh juices, cookies, cakes, scones, muffins, ice cream, fresh smoothies and acai bowls. All their items are 100% vegan, organic and fair trade when possible. Whatever items that can be made in Little Choc's house will be made in little Choc's house. This is in order to reduce the unnecessary fillers, gums and processed elements that go into food items. They make their own coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk and maple syrup. They even concoct their OWN flour made from sorghum, rice, arrowroot and potato starch #genius.

What is an Apothecary?

Apothecary is defined as a person or establishment that prepares and sells medicine and drugs. In their case, they are apothecary-like dishing out over 100+ herbal varieties of teas. They take requests based on an individuals health and even allow customers to take home their herbal blends by the ounce. Now, I think that is so FREAKING cool. I am a huge supporter of herbal remedies. I have consumed herbs for so many different minor health problems like anxiety, stress, bloating, digestive issues, menstrual irregularity and sleeping and 99% of the time, it was corrected by a combination of different herbs!

On every single social media website (Yelp, Facebook, Googlemaps, etc), this place recieved nothing less then a 4.5 star rating. So naturally, I had to order a multitude of things because I knew it was going to be off the chain.

What did I order:

A Sweet Crepe filled with peanut butter and fresh raspberries: Oh.My.Goodness. The size of this crepe was MASSIVE. The perfect size for someone to just order one and be full, focused and ready to tackle the day. The crepe was thick enough to actually taste what a crepe is actually supposed to taste like (shoutout to their home-made batter). Normally crepes are super thin, slimy and become masked by their filling but this crepe really can stand on it's own. Like, I was thinking I could get the crepe (batter goals) without any filling...It is that.damn.good. But then they pack this crepe with fresh ground peanut butter and large fresh raspberries. And as I took my last bite, I wondered if it would be weird to put my hand in the air and wave my pointer finger in a circle indicating the universal sign for "can I get another round".

Green Protein Machine Acai Bowl: With acai, bananas, dates, spiralina, hemp seeds, oats, coconut milk, anitas yogurt and home-made buckwheat granola. The granola was so amazing. It packed such a nice crunch and the almond slivers were perfectly roasted and it was not overly sweet! I really enjoyed the yogurt plopped in the center which felt and tasted more like whipped cream which I am totally 1000% OKAY with. The acai itself was less fruity and more grassy/greeny but thick and refreshing! I was going to order the PB & J (with fresh PB and homemade CHIA JAM) acai bowl but I thought I should take it easy on the PB...so I will be back for that.

Almond Milk Latte: A solid creamy latte that required 0 sugar additives. The home-made almond milk was so thick and creamy and delicious!

The quality service, ingredients and quaint atmosphere will make ANYONE fall in love with Little Cho Apothecary. I cannot wait to go back to try all the crepes! I heard rave reviews about their savory crepes. They can pack it with their home-made cashew cheeses, mushrooms, pulled jackfruit, tofu, avocado and coconut bacon. So yea, I am planning my next adventure their SOON and so should you!
