Today, we take a slight break from reviewing Brooklyn eatery's to talk about a new concept of fast food that has been killing the game since 2010.

Blossom Du Jour, located in several areas of Manhattan (including: Chelsea, Hells Kitchen, UWS 81st, Columbus Circle and Urban Vegan Kitchen), is a 100% Vegan Fast Food kitchen created by Pamela Elizabeth. Vegans, let's face the facts. If we are going out to eat, we are most likely committing to about an half hour wait for food. Of course, the food will be FRESH, amazing and delicious but we could have been super productive during those 30 minutes.

That's where Blossom Du Jour opens up shop, stands tall and looks adversity in the eye and states "Vegans, we got you".

Pamela states that it is her mission to bring healthy, environmentally conscious and quick food to the public. Her focus is on presenting fun and healthy foods to consumers that have little to no harm on any animal and environment.

Walking into this game changing establishment, you are surrounding by all black interior, dark lights and hot sauce bottles placed where ever there is empty space. Walking up to the register, you are hit with a huge "NO CASH" sign where they offer in app purchases, seamless and grub hub orders and credit or debit. You are approached by a care-free staff who are so honest, chilled out and just look happy to serve!

Their menu is STACKED with sandwiches and wraps ( including an unchicken griller wrap and an egg, cheese and bacon wrap to just name a few), salads (including their tex-mex salad packed with lemon UN-CHICKEN and sour cream), blossom bowls (like their southern bowl with marinated kale, MAC N Cheese, BBQ jackfruit and veggies) and AMAZING sides (like cheese fries, Mac N' Cheese and onion rings).

You can also build your OWN bowl which is what I chose to do:

Base: Marinated Kale, black beans, Cajun Seitan and roasted veggies.

Dressing: Mustard Tahini Dressing

Blossom Bowl Extras: Buffalo Cauliflower

First, the bowl was hot, fresh and ready in less than 10 minutes. That is not a joke! The kale was perfectly marinated with the right amount of crunch! Sometimes restaurants offer kale but it comes out soggy! This was not the case. The black beans were the right amount of crunch and mush. The roasted veggies were BEETS and boy were they so meaty. The cajun seitan tasted straight up like a fried chicken cutlet with a nice outer crunch and inner moistness. The tahini dressing was BOMB and distributed evenly across the bowl.

The main event: the buffalo cauliflower. HOLY MOLY. I had asked the workers which one was better the cauli or the BBQ jackfruit. They pointed me in the cauli direction if I was craving something healthy-unhealthy and I am so GLAD they did. Each piece of cauliflower was HUGE and had a really good amount of batter applied. I would eat this 24/7.

I admire the owner Pamela for implementing a WHOLE new concept to the food industry. Breaking down the idea that fast food HAS to be accompanied with fried chicken and hamburgers or each item has to be DOUSED in hydrogenated oils. If you have less than 10 minutes to spare, check out Blossom Du Jour.
