New York's ONLY Vegan Pizza Shop By The Slice

With their large VEGAN sign plastered above their awning, Screamer's Pizzeria located on Manhattan Ave in Brooklyn changes the #plantbased pizza game one.slice.at.a.time.

Walking up to the pizza counter and the counter girl immediately said that I looked like I was going to ask a question. Nope. No question's here. It is just that my jaw has dropped to the ground in amazement and I cannot seem to close it shut. BBQ Jack-fruit slice, Pepperoni slice (made with seitan), Mac N Cheese slice and a French Fry slice... just to name drop a few. OH and as a kicker, they have MASSIVE calzones packed with vegan cheese and ricotta.

I ordered the Artichoke Pizza packed with hot pesto, vegan cheese, house-made sausage and artichokes. I asked for the slice to be EXTRA CRISPY because ain't nobody like a soggy crust. Pizza slice price: $4.75. Time it took her to re-heat the slice in the oven to make it "extra crispy"...less than one minute. Before taking a bite, I almost flipped a table. I was convinced that it was not going to have ANY sort of crunch, be cold as ice and lack the creaminess that the OG artichoke pizza possess's. Damn, I was so wrong. #screamerspizzeria has one of the best ovens in the world. I have had to wait upwards of 5-10 minutes for a pizza to reheat just to have sub-par crisp.

Crust: Perfect amount of thickness, oil and salt.

Pesto: Straight up perfection. I am a huge fan of pesto.

House-made Sausage: How did they make it taste like my grandma's?!? #goals

Artichokes: Added a slightly epic sourness and nice crunch to a great slice.

They have one large table with 8 seats, an outside bench, and a large mirror with writing indicating all the variety of pies they have.

OVERALL, I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the creator's of @screamerspizzeria from the whole #vegan community. Your dedication to providing our awesome lifestyle with the OG NY style gooey, crusty, nostalgic pizza has not gone unnoticed. If you can't venture out to Manhattan Ave, do not be alarmed. They are featured on seamless AND door dash. So what are you waiting for?!
