The Bagel Store on Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn constantly reminds us that it is a great time to be alive

"The Bagel Store"... I mean you would think by their name alone that they were destined to be like every generic bagel seller with 5-6 types of bagels and 4 types of spreads and call it a day. From a distance, the green awning and pink window frames already screams "I AM DIFFERENT". They have over 15+ different types of bagels including the Rainbow bagel (inspired by Jonathan Cheban aka @foodgod aka Kim K's BFF), The Unicorn Bagel (Pictured above), Rainbow Bagel Pizzas and Cragels (mixture between bagel and croissant). Combine that with over 28+ different types of spreads (Birthday Cake & Cookie Dough just to name a few) , this bagel palace is worth every bit of the instagram hype and every last penny.
It displays two signs I love seeing in food establishments: Homemade & Made in House
Not to mention, their Homemade Tofu Spreads are to.die.for. From Tofu Jalapeño to Tofu Spinach Artichoke, I truly contemplated if asking for multiple smears on one bagel was socially acceptable.
What'd I order and How did it taste?
I felt like a kid in a candy store placing my order for The Unicorn Bagel w/ Plain Tofu and a Large black Iced coffee. What you will learn about me is that I cannot go anywhere without pairing a food item with a beverage...which is 99% always coffee...iced, hot, latte...I am open to all coffee walks of life. Total: ~$9.00.
Now I know what you are thinking, 9$ for a colored bagel w/ a simple smear and a black coffee? @Vegan.Bklyn.Foodie. you are out of your Unicorn mind. It is not JUST a bagel. It is a bagel with a cake-like after taste and the CREAMIEST Tofu Cream Cheese you have ever come across (we have all met a Tofu cream Cheese that was as hard as a rock and had a weird after taste). Oh and not to mention, just looking at it increased my happiness by 20%. If you don't believe me, 754 Metropolitan Ave # 1, Brooklyn, New York. Try it.
Omg yesssss hahaha are you out of your ubicorn mind?!? 😍😍🦄🦄💖💖💖
